Fezstravaganza! Fezopolis! Fezstock! Fez-o-rama! Saturday night at 8:00pm at the iconic Blue Door in OKC! $20 at the door, BYOB! So here’s the back story: long ago, a ragtag team of songwriter’s met and became friends. Fastforward 15 years ….. The Fezzmaster (Lori Wyssman) made us all fezzes (fez’? fezi?). We will don them simultaneously for a brief shining moment Saturday night while we swap songs. The fezz wearing minstrels are Joel Melton, Wendy Allyn, Ray Wyssmann, John Ashton Randolph, Craig C. White, Shelly Phelps, and The mysterious Mr. Shoe.

Hello everyone! Even with this chill, Spring is in the air! I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to get out and kick my heels up a bit and I hope you will join me! I have a show on Friday, April 1 at Othello’s of Norman. Yep, that’s right … it’s April Fools Day! I’ll be performing mostly original music with John Randolph and a few tasty cover tunes sprinkled in. Showtime is 8:00 – 11:00 pm. Oh yeah, did I mention that I reached my campaign goal at Kickstarter and I’m starting my new CD project? Many of YOU bought MP3′s, CD’s, merchandise, private concerts, and more in advance to help me raise funds for my new CD, “Beautiful and Burdened: 13 Vignettes about Secrets, Scandal, and Seduction”. The words “thank you” don’t seem to sum up my appreciation so I’m just going to make the best record I can possibly make … stay tuned. I love you!

By now, you probably already know that we exceeded my Kickstarter Campaign goal on March 17th, 2011! I allowed myself a brief, but joyous celebration and then I hit the ground running with pre-production as I prepare to go in the studio. I wanted to take a moment to thank you once again (no, this is not the last time you will hear it and to let you know how the project is progressing.

Counting those who pledged to me directly, a total of 56 backers contributed $5,655.00 to fund the recording, mastering, and manufacturing of my new CD, “Beautiful and Burdened: 13 Vignettes about Secrets, Scandal, and Seduction”. As I finalize lyrics, arrangements, chord progressions, and demo’s, I will start recording the CD at Paige Sound Studio in Edmond Oklahoma in two weeks with the amazing Paige Harwell engineering the project.

The words “Thank You” are heartfelt, but doesn’t truly describe the appreciation I feel toward each of you … friends, family, fans, and strangers (friends I haven’t met yet). The only thing I can do is go make the best music I can possibly make. I can’t wait to share my new music with you!

The only thing I love more than singing and writing songs is having an opportunity to share my music with you. I’ve launched a campaign to raise funds to record, manufacture, and release my upcoming CD, “Beautiful and Burdened: 13 Vignettes about Secrets, Scandal, and Seduction”. Othello’s is located at 434 Buchanan in Norman, OK. Showtime is from 7:00-9:00 pm, followed by open-mic night!

Othello’s Italian Restaurant and Bar, a family owned hot-spot on OU’s Campus Corner, has established itself as one of the best eateries and watering holes in Oklahoma for over 35 years. It has also served as Norman’s premier destination to hear top-notch musicians in an intimate, laid-back, acoustic setting.
